This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Cawley family crest against the Irish National Tartan.

The Cawley Name in Ireland

The name is Mac Amhalghaidh, built on Amhalgaidh, a royal personal name of early Ireland — the same name preserved in Tirawley, the north Mayo barony called after a fifth-century king of Connacht. The sept held Calry in Westmeath, where the name is also written Magawley, while the shortened Cawley took root in the west: Sligo and Mayo hold most Irish Cawleys today. MacAuley carries the same name in its Ulster and Scottish dress.

How the Cawley Blanket Is Made

Formed on the loom and nowhere else. Crest and tartan are woven in 100% premium cotton yarn within the cloth, with traditional fringed edges to finish.

Product Details

Material: 100% premium cotton yarn

Construction: woven, not printed

Available sizes: 52 × 37 inches, 60 × 50 inches, and 80 × 60 inches

Finish: traditional fringed edges

Care: machine wash cold on a gentle cycle; tumble dry low

From the land of Amhalgaidh, to yours.

More for the Cawley Family

The Cawley family crest also appears on mugs, apparel, ornaments, and wall décor elsewhere at Celtic Ancestry Gifts.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0924/0749/7005/files/cawley-irish-woven-blanket-sligo-mayo-family-crest-throw_1.jpg?v=1793353427
