Carville Irish Woven Blanket | Oriel Monaghan Family Crest Throw

Carville is the northern branch of one of Ireland's oldest first names. This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Carville family crest against the Irish National Tartan.

The Carville Name in Ireland

The Irish is Mac Cearbhaill — son of Cearbhall, a favorite personal name of early Ireland — and its home is the old kingdom of Oriel, in Monaghan and Tyrone, where McCarville keeps the fuller form. It is a northern cousin of the more famous Carroll, which descends from the same first name through a different line. Scarce and settled, the name reads clearly in Ulster records, and most Carville trails lead back to Oriel without much argument.

How the Carville Blanket Is Made

The design is loomed in, not laid on. 100% premium cotton yarn carries the crest and tartan through the cloth, with traditional fringed edges to finish.
