Chevers Irish Woven Blanket | Norman Wexford Family Crest Throw
Chevers held its ground long enough to be moved rather than erased. This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Chevers family crest against the Irish National Tartan.
The Chevers Name in Ireland
Chevers — also Cheevers — is Norman French, most likely a nickname from chèvre, the goat, and it settled into Wexford and Meath in the wake of the invasion. The family stood among the Catholic gentry through the confiscations, prominent enough to be transplanted to Connacht under Cromwell rather than simply dispossessed — a backhanded mark of standing. The name remains scarce, and mostly Leinster, to this day.
How the Chevers Blanket Is Made
No surface decoration here. The crest and tartan are woven from 100% premium cotton yarn into the body of the cloth, edged with a traditional fringe.
